The Arizona Supreme Court sets very strict guidelines of
eligibility. Your ticket cannot be associated with an accident that
caused a death or serious injury. In addition, you can’t attend driving
school if you have in the previous two years. You can find out quickly
if you are eligible by looking at your violation code on your ticket.

In Arizona, you may or may not be able to use defensive driving courses
if you have a commercial driver’s license. Even if you are ordered to
attend traffic school, you may not be able to get out of a traffic
ticket (especially an Arizona speeding ticket) by taking the
classes.
You might also be eligible for taking an online Arizona defensive
driving school course. However, the rules are strict surrounding these
requirements, since the state has to be able to regulate that the
person taking the classes is the same person that got the original
citation. Driving University is the Arizona Supreme Court approved
course provider, and taking a class through this program through this
online system will give you the same benefits as taking a course
offline.
