Every state has different ways of defining drinking and driving offenses. In some states, the offense is known as DWI – driving while intoxicated. Other states use the term DUI, which can stand for driving under the influence. Still other states use both terms, differentiating between the two. In Arizona, the terms DUI and DWI can be used interchangeably.
